Do Pakistanis need a visa for Thailand?
Yes, Pakistani citizens visiting Thailand will need a visa for entry.
There are various types of visas, depending on the purpose of the visit, including tourist visas, transit visas, non-immigration visas and more. However, the following categories of visitors are prohibited from entering the Kingdom:
- Having no genuine and valid passport or document used in lieu of passport, or having a genuine and valid passport or document used in lieu of passport without issuing visa by the Royal Thai Embassies or Consulates in foreign countries; or from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, except if a visa is not required for certain types of aliens in special instances.
- Having no appropriate means of living following entrance into the Kingdom
- Having entered into the Kingdom to take occupation as a laborer, or to take employment by using physical energy without skills or training or to work in violation of the Alien Work Permit Law.
- Being mentally unstable or having any of the diseases as prescribed in the Ministerial Regulations.
- Having not yet been vaccinated against smallpox or inoculated or undergone any other medical treatment for protection against disease and having refused to have such vaccinations administered by the Immigration doctor.
- Having been imprisoned by the judgment of the Thai Court; by a lawful injunction, or by the judgment of the Court of the foreign country, except when the penalty is for petty offense or negligence or is provided for as an exception in the Ministerial Regulations.
- Having behavior which would indicate possible danger to the Public or likelihood of being a nuisance or constituting any violence to the peace or safety of the public or to the security of the public or to the security of the nation, or being under warrant of arrest by competent officials of foreign governments.
- Reason to believe that entrance into the Kingdom was for the purpose of being involved in prostitution, the trading of women or children, drug smuggling, or other types of smuggling that are contrary to public morality.
- Having no money or bond as prescribed by the Minister under Section 14 of the Immigration Act B.E. 2522
- Being a person prohibited by the Minister under Section 16 of the Immigration Act B.E. 2522.
- Being deported by the Thai Government or foreign countries, having your right to stay revoked, or being expelled at the expense of the Thai Government can lead to denial of entry unless special exemptions are considered by the Minister on a case-by-case basis.
Thailand visa for Pakistani types
The following are some of the Thailand visas available for Pakistani citizens:
Tourist visa
Pakistani citizens visiting Thailand for tourism purposes can apply for the Thailand tourist visa. The Thailand tourist visa has a validity of 3 months under the single-entry scheme and 6 months of validity under the multiple-entry scheme.
Moreover, visitors can stay up to 60 days without the need for an extension of stay, with the Thailand tourist visa.
Fees
According to the Royal Thai Embassy Islamabad, the visa costs for Thailand tourist visas from Pakistan are as follows:
- Tourist visa (single entry): PKR 13,000
- Tourist visa (multiple entry): PKR 65,000

Transit visa

Courtesy visas

Non-immigrant visa

The single entry non-immigrant visas have a validity of 3 months, whereas, multiple-entry non-immigrant visas have a validity ranging between 1 to 3 years, depending on the type of visa applied for.

Thailand visa for Pakistani requirements
The following are some of the general documents required to apply for a Thailand visa from Pakistan:
- Personalized cover letter, including name, passport number, purpose of visit, travel date, and other vital details.
- Two recent passport-size photographs (taken within the last 6 months).
- Two filled out and signed visa application forms (Royal Thai Embassy Islamabador Royal Thai Consulate-General, Karachi) in capital letters.
- Two copies of the applicant’s CNIC card
- Two copies of the applicant’s passport, only the page containing passport holder information (first four pages)
- Bank statement covering a minimum of 1 year
- Bank account maintenance certificate
- Letter from the employing or owned organization detailing the applicant’s association, travel approval, leave dates, and essential information
- Visa request on company letterhead (required by Islamabad embassy for self-employed applicants)
- National Tax Number – NTN
- Confirmed non-refundable flight ticket
- Proof of hotel booking or accommodation
- One blank cross cheque and affidavit on stamp paper (required by the Karachi consulate)
- Family registration certificate – FRC (if traveling with family)
- Marriage certificate (if traveling with a spouse)
- B-form (if accompanying children)

How to apply for a Thailand visa from Pakistan?
According to the information provided by the Royal Thai Embassy in Islamabad, you can apply for a Thai visa from Pakistan in any of the two following ways:
self-submission of the visa application form along with the other required documents at the Royal Thai Embassy in Islamabad, Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 11.30 AM or at the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Karachi, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 10:30AM.
- Through the 12 official visa agents authorized by the Royal Thai Embassy in Islamabad.
Please note that the decision announced by these visa processing companies will be final and valid until 11 October 2025, and the Embassy reserves the right to review the list or suspend the service of these companies without any prior notice or providing any reasons.
